Registration opens November 3, 2026.
CV Giving Day returns Tuesday, March 2, 2027, with early giving from Tuesday, February 2nd. Whether you took part last year or you are new to the day, registering is how your organization gets in.
What registration gives you on CV Giving Day
- A giving page for your organization, open to donors from early giving through the day
- Peer-to-peer fundraising, so your supporters can raise on your behalf
- Eligibility for at least $100,000 in prize funding, awarded by random draw among eligible organizations
- A valley-wide campaign behind you — media, email and advertising driving donors to the day
- Registering also lists your organization on cvgiving.org, the Coachella Valley nonprofit directory, for the full year — your mission, your city, your cause and your link to give, built to be read by the AI agents and assistants people now use to find charitable causes. That is a separate site from this one, and it stays up between giving day campaigns.
Eligibility
To participate in CV Giving Day 2027, your organization must:
- Be a 501(c)(3) public charity, recognized by the IRS as a qualified recipient of tax-deductible gifts
- Provide services or programs within the Coachella Valley
Special notes
Religious organizations (churches, mosques, synagogues and others) may qualify if donations can be clearly associated with a local community-serving program — a food pantry or a youth outreach effort, for example.
Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, national origin, age, disability, religion, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, pregnancy, or any other protected status are not eligible to participate.
To be eligible for prize money
In addition to the above, you must also:
- Follow CV Giving Day on social media
- Be an active member in good standing of our online community at cvgivingday.org

- NPO Registration opens — Tuesday, November 3, 2026
- Early giving starts — Tuesday, February 2, 2027
- Community Night at Acrisure Arena — Wednesday, February 3, 2027 (details to be announced)
- NPO Registration closes — Tuesday, February 23, 2027
- CV Giving Day — Tuesday, March 2, 2027
Registration closes a week before CVGD so that every application can be reviewed. All participating nonprofits are reviewed and approved by the Desert Community Foundation and the CV Giving Day team — we are simply making sure each organization meets the criteria and fits the mission of a generous, inclusive, community-focused Coachella Valley. Complete all eligibility steps before February 23, 2027.
How to register
- Click the Register button, and you will be prompted to log into Mightycause — or create an account — to reach the registration form.
- If you took part in CV Giving Day 2026: use the same email address and account you used last year. Your organization’s details will already be there.
- If you are new, or you are a new administrator for an existing organization: enter your email address and follow the steps to create a Mightycause account.
