A collection of extraordinary musicians have descended on sunny Palm Springs for a compelling musical tapestry with delightful surprises. Female artists, singers, instrumentalists, composers and arrangers have come from near and far to celebrate their contributions to jazz in all of its forms —straight ahead, contemporary, funk, blues and Latin. Palm Springs Women's Jazz Festival has offered concerts for audiences who don’t often see this kind of unique and special coming together - from multi-platinum award-winning performers to rising stars.

The inaugural year of the festival was highlighted by an array of 26 artists including Grammy winner Terri Lyne Carrington, four-time Grammy nominee Patrice Rushen, Suede and Carmen Lundy. We also screened Girls in the Band, Judy Chaikin’s documentary that is an award-winning film that amply demonstrates the deep involvement of women in all aspects of the American Great musical genre.

The Palm Springs Women’s Jazz and Blues Association exists to preserve and foster an appreciation of jazz and blues music and to support female jazz and blues musicians who traditionally struggle for recognition and employment. The festival includes concerts, exhibits, presentations, films and other events that promote an understanding and enjoyment of the work of women artists.

Since launching in 2013, The Palm Springs Women’s Jazz Festival has been featured in numerous publications including Jazz Times, KJAZZ Radio in Los Angeles, Palm Springs Life and listed as a Top Ten Music Festival in the Desert Sun after just two years.
