What is CV Giving Day?

CV Giving Day is the Coachella Valley’s official 24-hour online giving event, uniting donors, nonprofits, and local businesses to raise awareness and funds for organizations serving all nine cities in the valley. Since launching in 2023, it's raised over $2 million for local causes.

When is CV Giving Day 2026?

Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Early Giving begins on February 3, 2026, offering a full month of opportunity to donate and participate.

How can nonprofits participate?

Eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofits with a presence in the Coachella Valley can register before February 24, 2026. Approved organizations receive their own year-round donation page and are eligible for prizes.

What are the prizes and how are they awarded?

Over $125,000 in cash prizes are available for participating nonprofits thanks to our generous Impact Partners. Prizes are awarded based on campaign creativity, donor engagement, and leaderboard rankings. All prizes are verified by the Desert Community Foundation and distributed within 30 days.

What payment methods are accepted?

Donors can give using credit or debit card, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and ACH bank transfer. All donations are securely processed by MightyCause Foundation (501(c)(3), Tax ID 27-2499903).

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. A tax receipt is automatically emailed to you by MightyCause Foundation after your donation is processed.

Can I support more than one nonprofit?

Yes! CV Giving Day makes it easy to give to multiple nonprofits in a single transaction using the 'shopping cart' feature.

Who organizes CV Giving Day?

CV Giving Day is hosted by the Desert Community Foundation in partnership with California Bank & Trust. The event is powered by the MightyCause platform, and fully funded by local sponsors, families, and businesses.

Which communities are served by CV Giving Day?

CV Giving Day serves all nine Coachella Valley cities: Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Desert Hot Springs, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, La Quinta, Indio, and Coachella. Adjacent areas such as Mecca, Thermal, Bermuda Dunes, North Shore, and Thousand Palms are also included through participating nonprofits.
