It's more than just fishing!

Our Work:

This year, we had the opportunity to teach almost 300 children how to fish.  Learning to fish teaches children patience and cooperation, and helps them relax.  Children love it so much that one child told her mom that she would rather fish with us than go to Disneyland.   Parents tell us that our events help them and their families have a day where everyone feels like they belong.  

We send every child home with everything they need to continue fishing. This includes rods, reels, and tackle.

Aaron has been to every event.  He tells us that he loves coming to fish because he gets to see his friends.  He has become an expert and now helps others learn to fish.

You can help us continue our goal of teaching every child how to fish. Your donation of $100 can provide everything we need to take a child like Aaron and his family fishing for the day! $25 sends home a fishing pole to keep.  $10 buys bait.

Our Philosophy:

WCF events are about more than fishing. Children with disabilities often face challenges, including social isolation, that lead to reduced self-esteem and a diminished quality of life. At our events, kids learn about patience and teamwork. WCF provides a calm environment for physical activity that promotes relaxation and concentration, which are critical for their holistic development.

Goals for Growing our Organization:

WCF is always looking for ways to add events. Our fishing trips are popular, and we’re expanding geographically. We don’t ever want to turn kids away.
